Yesterday's Life Journal reading Matthew 14 talked to me. Jesus was in deep anguish over the death of John the baptist, and how he died. He needed to be alone in his grief, but the people crowded in.
Setting that aside because of his compassion for them, he was there for them. He was able to bring about the great miracle of feeding the 5,000 because of the power within him. I venture to say that power was enhanced by the great strength of grief that was within him at that moment. He later went back to the mountain to be alone.
I am thankful for the people who are feeding multitudes this Thanksgiving Day.
